The introduction of the new Part L Building Regulations 2006 has seen a significant change in the approach to the design of services. We recognise the difficulties that this can cause our Clients and have undertaken training in both Part L1 and L2 to ensure that we are able to give clear advice to Clients in order to achieve compliance whilst still introducing value to each project.
We are fully conversant with the use of the ISBEM method of calculation as required for compliance with Part L2. We also undertake full thermal modelling of buildings which is almost essential to pass the requirements for solar heating where buildings are naturally ventilated.
Our experience of the new regulations has highlighted that it is important for us to liaise directly with Architects in order to reduce the effects of solar gain by the use of passive ventilation methods, solar shading and night time ventilation strategy. In addition we are able to advise on low energy, low and zero carbon emission solutions.
Services Design Solution employs low and zero carbon emission consultants and is committed to reduction of CO2 emission through sound engineering, design of buildings and introduction of new technologies.
